my ebid profile

Crochet Doilies is registered as a “Fictitious Business Name” with the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations and is registered in the city of Largo, Florida. Check the Division of Corporation’s Sunbiz website to see my DBA (Doing Business As). I hold a Certificate of Registration with The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) to report sales tax collected for my sales in Florida. Crochet Doilies is a sole proprietorship business which means in a nutshell "I run the show on my own and do everything". :-)

Dear Visitor,

Yes, I do everything myself, from crocheting, packing and shipping your orders, to maintaining my web site, taking digital pictures... etc...etc.

About the name doilies... It takes me about 6 to 10 hours to complete an average size doily. I think the lace filet crochet name doily is a great idea for gift giving. Customers often share with me who the doily will be for, some write back after it was given as a gift and it is very nice to know when it made someone happy. Afterall, the best mean of advertizing is by word of mouth...

About my Vintage Crochet Books... I find these by "any mean I can" (garage sales, auctions, estate sales...). These are in used condition, I do my best to describe them individually...

Enough chatting... back to crocheting! :)
Have a great day, Claudine

How did it begin?

It all began ... with my Grandma Gisèle.

my Grandma Gisele

Over thirty years ago, my grand mother Gisele taught me my first chain stitch. I was only 8 years old! Quickly a passion was born! My very first crochet works were endless chain stitches turned into necklaces. Then there were scarves... and vests... and so on. I also knit, cross-stitch, needlepoint, paint, do enamels... etc... my "crafty green thumb" was a gift from my grandma Gisèle. She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful crocheter.

One day, back in 2004, I received a special request from an eBay customer to crochet several name doilies for all her grandchildren. This is what started the idea for this website and turned my passion for the Art of Crochet into a small business.

Thank you to all customers who order or who place bids on my online auctions. You are the ones who keep this small business so meaningful and very much alive!

I appreciate & value all your feedbacks and I proudly display them on my Testimonials web page.
